Abstract

1,211,327. Two-part couplings. AMP Inc 27 May, 1969 [14 June, 1968], No. 26649/69 Heading H2E. A connector comprises a ferrule 3 and a tab contact portion 1 at opposite ends of an intermediate portion 2 having a struck-out tongue 9 having a free end directed towards the ferrule 3, longitudinal depressions 7 and, adjacent the tab portion, a normal projection. The projection may be formed from two bent lateral wings 5, 6 which may either abut or extend away from portion 2, on the same side or on opposite sides (Figs. 6-8, not shown). The depressions 7, which have corresponding projections (8) on the opposite side of portion 2 (Fig. 2, not shown), may underlie the normal projections. The connector, which may be of brass or bronze, is received in a passage in an insulating housing having a shoulder behind which the tongue 9 engages, and a surface at one end, against which the projections (or projections and depressions) abut on both sides and side walls which extend forwardly of said one end and have slots to receive the tab portion.
