Abstract

879,344. Two-part couplings. BURNDY CORPORATION. Sept. 23, 1959 [Sept. 24, 1958], No. 32381/59. Class 38 (1). An insulating contact carrier 16, e.g. of plastic material, for insertion in a metal housing 14, e.g. of aluminium, has a peripheral shoulder 28 with gaps 29 to provide clearance for projections 30 within the housing 14, the latter also having projections 32 spaced inwardly of and offset in relation to projections 30, to provide a locking abutment for the front edge of the shoulder 28. A substantially U-shaped spring member 18 with a bend 38 co-operating with an opening 36 in the housing is inserted between the projections 30 and the rear surface 3I of the shoulder 28 to lock the insert in position.
