Abstract
993,367. Two part couplings. BENDIX CORPORATION. April 12, 1962 [May 9, 1961], No. 14239/62. Addition to 858,258. Heading H2E. In a socket contact according to the parent Specification in which a bimetallic strip 16 (Fig. 7) lies in a longitudinal slot in the cylindrical metallic wall of the contact communicating with the bore of the socket, a resilient split sleeve 18 (Fig. 1) located in a circumferential groove 48, Fig. 7, is provided which surrounds the body and the strip to co-operate with the latter in maintaining contact pressure on an inserted pin over a large temperature range. The sleeve may be formed from a one-piece sheet metal blank (Fig. 8, not shown), e.g. of a nickel alloy.
