883,624. Electric motors. EDWARDS, M. L. Oct. 6, 1958, No. 31845/58. Class 35. [Also in Group XXVI] An electric motor driving a centrifugal fuel pump and submerged within an aircraft fuel tank is cooled by pumped fuel which is bled from the pump casing through ports 69, 71 and passes upwardly between the rotor 48 and stator 49, lubricating a bearing 43 and returning to the tank through a port (not shown) provided in the end wall 34. The port is provided with a screen or filter to act as a fire and explosion barrier.
