653,154. Centrifugal pumps. TRIGGS, W. W. (Pierce Foundation, J. B.). Oct. 1, 1948, No. 25669. [Class 110(i)] [Also in Group XXXV] In a motor-pump unit in which there are no packing glands or leak proof bearings, separate compartments are provided to house stator windings 14, cage rotor 22, and pump impeller 33 and the stator compartment is made fluid tight by providing a non-magnetic partition 19 e.g. mica, in the air gap between the rotor and stator, said air gap being disposed transversely to the motor axis.
