907,084. Cooling dynamo electric machines. KRAEMER, H. Nov. 15, 1960, No. 39126/60. Class 35. [Also in Group XXVI] In a multi-stage pump unit driven by a canned electric motor, liquid for cooling and lubricating the driving motor is drawn from pump outlet 5 via duct 6 and passes through air gap 10 and thence through duct 15 in shaft 16 to an intermediate stage in the pump. This serves to maintain the cooling liquid under pressure and so prevent its vaporization. It is described how shaft sealing screw 22 may be used to select the stage into which the shaft duct 21 discharges in pumps having more than three stages.
