Abstract
846,967. Rotary pumps and motors. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Jan. 13, 1958, No. 1194/58. Class 110 (2). In a rotary pump or motor of the outwardlysliding vane and multiple abutment type, the rotor is overhung and journalled in the stator A by means of a shaft bearing 56 and a series of cam surfaces provided on the stator engaging the cylindrical surface of the rotor. The unit is provided with inlet passages 42, 44, 46 and outlet passages 32, 34, 36, 38, 40. The rotor is connected by a splined shaft 52 to a driven or power-take-off shaft 50 having a sealing-plug 72. In a modification the shaft 50 is dispensed with and the rotor is mounted on a splined shaft having an intermediate section of reduced diameter, (see Fig. 3 not shown). For details of the configuration of the cam surface of the stator the Specification should be referred to.
