Abstract
882,830. Endless conveyers; tower cranes. FOENETER S.A. April 21, 1958 [April 27, 1957], No. 12632/58. Classes 78 (1) and 78 (4). A crane comprises a hollow tower 1, Fig. 12, having a platform 15 mounted for vertical movement inside the tower, and at least one platform or skip and a slewing jib 21 mounted for vertical movement outside the tower. The jib carries a travelling crab 37 and may also support an endless conveyer 51 carrying a second travelling crab 52, the two crabs supporting a second endless conveyer 54 which may be pivoted as indicated by the use of the hoisting gear 42. A third endless conveyer 70 may be suspended from the conveyer 54. The jib is pivotally mounted on a support 25 movable vertically on the tower by a hoist 28, and is slewed by a rope passing around a horizontal pulley 33. A tie rod 32 may be replaced by a rope for luffing the jib. The tower may be triangular or rectangular in section and preferably carries two outside platforms or skips 12, 12<SP>1</SP>, Figs. 6, 7, which may move up and down alternately on one rope or be independently controlled. The platform 15 preferably carries a concrete mixer which is supplied with materials by the skips or platforms 12, 12<SP>1</SP> and feeds the conveyer 51 via a movable shoot 58. The tower may be mounted on wheels, and after immobilization by jacks may be attached by a turnbuckle 63 to the building under construction. A second jib 76, Fig. 14, may be mounted on the top of the tower for slewing about an axis 77.
