[Also in Group XXVIII] In a concealed type injection pump, i.e. a pump having a mounting flange 15, Fig. 1 so that, when mounted, a substantial part of the pump body below the flange is concealed within the engine, the means 11 for withdrawing the full-load stop 10 out of the path of the control rod 4 for starting, and the means 16 for adjusting the normal position of the full-load stop 10, are situated above the flange 15 so as to be accessible from outside the engine. In Fig. 1 the stop 10 has a conical lower end forming a stop for the rod 4 and its position is adjusted by rotation of a screw 16 carrying an eccentric pin 17 co-operating with a shoulder 20 in the stop 10. For starting, the stop 10 is lifted against its loading spring 14 by means of the hand lever 11. In Fig. 2 the position of the full-load stop 28 is adjusted by rotation of a shaft 31 which brings a selected abutment face 32 opposite the spring-urged stop. For starting, the casing 29 is lifted, by means of handle 30, to move the stop 28 sideways out of the path of the control rod 24.
