Abstract

877,381. Prefabricated buildings. BEEVER'S SONS Ltd., BENJAMIN. March 4, 1958 [March 6, 1957], No. 7482/57. Class 20(1) A building is constructed from a number of prefabricated units made of wood and comprising two columns 13, 14 supporting a roof truss 15, the lower ends of the columns being bolted to the tops of concrete reinforcing posts 10, 11 secured in foundations 12, the units supporting a roof ridge 21 and panels 22. The columns 13, 14 are made from two members 19 placed side by side so that they straddle the supporting posts which extend above the ground. Concrete slabs 23 are placed along the sides of the building and are joined together by reinforcing rods and concrete beams 27. These slabs may extend for only part of the height of the units or they may fill in the walls completely.
