Abstract
873,401. Lubricators. ETABLISSEMENTS G. MARTIN S.A. Dec. 11, 1959 [Dec. 27, 1958], No. 42151/59. Class 12 (3). A metering device for alternately supplying measured quantities of lubricant under pressure to two distributer lines of a central lubrication system and comprising a metering cylinder 2 in which a lubricant delivery piston 3 is mounted, the ends of the cylinder being connected to a pair of ducts 6, 6a acting alternately as lubricant inlet and outlet is characterized in that each fluid connection is established through a passage 5, 5a, opening laterally into a cavity 8, 8a into which lead a pair of coaxial opposite orifices 6, 7, 6a, 7a having their common axis disposed substantially at right-angles to said passage, said orifices 6, 7, 6a, 7a constituting the inlet and outlet ports respectively, said cavity enclosing a resilient diaphragm 9, 9a extending substantially at right-angles to said inlet and outlet orifices, the edges of the diaphragm engaging the wall of said cavity and the diaphragm closing the orifices on the one hand by means of its marginal portion and on the other hand by means of the central port of its two faces. Fig. 3 shows the position adopted by the diaphragm in the absence of operative pressure on either side.
