Abstract

[Also in Division G4] A device for dispensing measured quantities of a lubricant comprises a measuring chamber 21 having a reciprocable free piston 22, a counter 45 being arranged to count the number of operations of the piston. The measuring chamber 21 is formed in a body 19 and closed at its ends by plugs 36, one plug being fitted with an adjustable stop 38 for the piston and the other plug with the counter 45. Supply pipes 13, 14 are connected to the body and fed with lubricant from a reservoir 10 via a pump 12 and valve 15, the pipes leading into ports 25 which communicate with the chamber 21 and outlet pipes 29 via oneway valves. In operation. when lubricant is fed via the pipe 13, into the chamber 21, the one-way valves associated with that pipe and the outlet pipe is closed so that the piston is forced along the chamber, thus dispersing the lubricant through the other outlet pipe, the stroke of the piston being determined by the position of the screw 38.
