Abstract

776,241. Nozzles. LYONS & CO., Ltd., J., WHITE, P., and STEELE, A. H. V. March 4, 1955 [March 4, 1954], No. 6361/54. Class 69 (3). A discharge nozzle for filling cups at a high rate includes a body 1 fed with liquid from a pipe 2 and housing a rotary valve plug 7 having an inlet port 10 and a bore 9. The bore is chamfered at 11, and adjacent the chamfered end of the bore the inner surface of the nozzle body is sharply increased at 13 to provide a cylindrical outlet from which the liquid issues. The area of the bore 9 is approximately onethird of the area of the cylindrical outlet, and the length of the outlet is substantially equal to the diameter of the bore.
