Abstract
872,765. Cutting tobacco. AMF-SASIB S.p.A. SCIPIONE INNOCENTI-BOLOGNA. Oct. 19, 1959 [Jan. 21, 1959], No. 35362/59. Class 5(1). As the cutters 5 on a rotary cutting cylinder are continually worn down by a constant-contact grinder the blades are automatically pushed out to compensate the cutters lying on plane surfaces of the cylinder and pressed by springs against distanced clamp plates. The pushers 27 for each blade are screwed over on their threaded shafts 28 rotated by gear wheels 34 geared to worm wheels 33 driven by a central shaft 42 rotated through a big reduction gear box 49 coupled to a belt drive pulley 40 of the main drive. A stop motion in case of jamming is provided by a coupled shaft 32 in the same line which stops on jamming and so screws itself over until its adjustable abutment screw 56 operates a switch for the main motor. The cutting cylinder is mounted on swing arms for adjustment to or from the mouthpiece.
