Abstract

871,849. Stop motions in textile doubling machines. PRINCE-SMITH & STELLS Ltd. Feb. 5, 1960 [April 27, 1959], No. 14352/59. Class 120(2) Biased feelers 14, 15, one for each supply yarn A, B are arranged so that either feeler upon breakage &c. of a yarn engages one end of a pivoted transfer lever 26 and rotates it whereupon its other end engages and moves a trapping comb 18 to rupture the other yarn. The feelers 14, 15 and the combs 18 are biased by adjustable counterweights 23, 29 and engaged by off-sets 261, 262 respectively. Both yarns pass round a driven roller 12 and through an eye 19 which is mounted on an arm 20, 31 pivoted at 30. If the tension of the combined yarns decreases, or if only one yarn is passed through the eye 19, the arm 20, 31 is rotated by the weight of the part 31 and of a connecting rod 32, a hooked end 21 of which engages the off-set 261 to actuate the comb 18.
