Abstract
870,434. Liquid burners. DANSK STOKER & VARMEKEDEL KOMPAGNI A. S. Nov. 11, 1959, No. 38288/59. Class 75(1). [Also in Group XXVIII] An oil feeding device for a low pressure oil burner of the type comprising an air pump of the rotary wing type in which oil is whipped with air to a foamy mixture which is fed to the burner the device comprises means for providing two oil currents which are adjustable in a substantially proportional manner one of the oil currents being connected to the inlet of the rotary wing pump and the other current being connected directly to the burner. A gear pump 10, 11 on a shaft 8 feeds oil to a bore 32 in a casing 5 leading to a distributer disc 16 having a suction opening 17 for supplying the oil to a rotor 14 on the shaft 8. The rotor has six bores each with a piston 22 which reciprocates under the action of a spring 24 and contacts a plate 30 at one end. An adjusting screw 31 varies the angular position of the plate to vary the stroke of the pistons. The screw contacts a plate 28 retaining a ball bearing 29 on the plate 30. The oil discharges from the bores to openings 18, 19 in the distributer disc. The opening 18 leads to the air pump and the opening 19 directly to the burner. A driven shaft 1 mounts the air pump 3. The shaft has a worm 6 which meshes with a worm gear 7 on the shaft 8. A casing 25 fastened to a wall of the casing 5 encloses the rotor. An end cover 26 encloses the plates 28 and 30. The oil may pass through a preheater. A lubricating groove 21 is provided in the distributer disc and a centre opening 20 for the shaft 8.
