Abstract

870,019. Gear pumps and meters. CHEMSTRAND CORPORATION. May 8, 1959 [May 19, 1958], No. 15904/59. Class 110 (2). In a rotary meter or pump of the geartype comprising a central gear wheel 28 intermeshing with a series of pinions 32, the members 28, 32 are freely mounted between ported end-plates 21, 23 disposed in a housing 15 having a fluid inlet reservoir 24 and a plurality of discharge conduits 17. The gear-wheel 28 may be connected to external gearing to function as a pump (see Fig. 5 not shown). The members 28, 32 may be mounted on studs formed integral with the end-plate of a stack of five plates which are suitably ported for feeding fluid to outlet bores in said studs (see Fig. 6, not shown).
