Abstract

1504380 Rotary positive-displacement fluidmachines R D HANSON and J F GORDON [trading as GORDON TORQUER Ltd] 16 July 1975 [1 Aug 1974] 29832/75 Heading F1F A pump or motor of the rotary-gate type has a main rotor comprising a plate 28 with pistons 32, 33, 34 fixed thereto and extending into an annular chamber 19 in a housing block 12, the chamber being intersected by a gate rotor 44 with a recess 50 to allow the pistons to pass and located between inlet and outlet ports 42, 43. To reduce back pressure the outlet port may be extended circumferentially of the chamber 19, Fig. 6 (not shown). The gate and main rotors are inter-connected by e.g. gears 52, 53, so as to rotate synchronously with each other.
