Abstract
1450716 Rotary positive-displacement fluidmachines SPERRY RAND CORP 10 Dec 1973 [27 Dec 1972] 57069/73 Heading F1F In a reversible sliding vane pump or motor, a cam ring 14 defines a track comprising arcuate portions 32, 34 and intermediate portions 36, 38 and is mounted between end-plates (20), (22) Fig. 1 (not shown) with the inter-position of pressureloaded cheek-plates 16, (18), each end-plate having a fluid terminal and passages for admitting fluid to recesses 56, 58 in the adjacent cheek-plate, the alternate recesses 58 having slots 60 connecting the fluid terminal to a working chamber in the region of one of the track intermediate portions 36 or 38. Sealing rings are located at the periphery of the recesses 56, 58. Additional passages 62 in recesses 58 allow the admission and exhaustion of fluid to and from the vane slots for biasing the vanes.
