Abstract

1,098,085. Rotary pumps and motors. CONCENTRIC (ENGINEERING) Ltd. Feb. 4, 1965 [March 26, 1964], No. 12923/64. Heading F1F. A rotary pump or motor of the internally meshing N and N-1 lobe type comprising an inner rotor 10 eccentrically mounted for planetary rotation within and with respect to an outer rotor 12 having one more lobe whereby chambers between the two rotors are varied in volume, includes at each lobe of the inner rotor a radial slot slidably mounting a vane 11 having parallel flat faces connected by an arcuate face sealingly engaging the outer rotor. Slot spaces 14 behind the vanes communicate with the high-pressure zone 15 of the pump or motor. The eccentricity "X" between the axes of the respective rotors may be varied or reversed to vary output or reverse direction of rotation.
