Abstract

1301576 Rotary pump or motor KOEHRING CO 6 May 1970 [21 May 1969] 21711/70 Heading F1F In a rotary pump or motor comprising an inner member having vanes 16, 17 and inlet and outlet ports 29, 31, and an outer member having rotary abutments 18, the inner member and abutments having gear teeth 21, 26 which intermesh except when a vane is engaged in a recess 28 in an abutment 18, the vanes and recesses are so shaped that the relative rotational velocities of the inner and outer members are maintained when a vane is engaged in a recess and the teeth 21, 26 are out of mesh. Pressure relief passages 46 and 47 are provided at the bottom of the recesses 28 and between the teeth 26 between adjacent vanes 16, 17 respectively. The vanes and recesses are so shaped that during engagement therebetween each vane flank engages a convex portion of the sides of the recess.
