Abstract

1279041 Rotary positive-displacement pumps EMERSON ELECTRIC CO 8 Jan 1970 [10 Jan 1969 1015/70 Heading F1F In an hydraulic pump comprising similar units 22, 24 of the gerotor type a disc 20 is secured to a common driving-shaft 17 and the internallytoothed gears 28, 44 are disposed in anti-phase relationship so that the resultant couple acting on the shaft due to forces created by the working fluid is substantially zero, thereby minimizing the loads carried by bearings 18, 19. Separate inlet ports 38, 50 and outlet ports 40, 51 for the units are disposed as shown in housing end-walls 12, 13. The gears 28, 44 are support by bearing rings 29, 46, the corresponding externally-toothed gears 26, 42 being fixed to the shaft. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 5, the units 72, 74 have dissimilar axial-lengths and common inlet and outlet ports (the outlet port is not shown). The resultant couple acting on the shaft in this embodiment may be other than zero so as to balance a moment of force, due to external lateralloading of the shaft.
