Abstract

1278074 Rotary positive-displacement pumps O ECKERLE 20 Aug 1969 [22 Aug 1968] 41499/69 Heading F1F In an internally-meshing gear-pump a shaft 1 for the pinion has bearings 7, 8 which to minimize wear are attached to the casing end-covers 9, 10 by webs 11, 12. The pressure of the working fluid in zones 13, 14 can thus deflect the bearings outwardly and thereby compensate for shaft deflection caused by said pressure acting on the pinion in direction 4. Alternatively, one of the bearings is attached to the respective end-cover by two relatively thick and thin webs, Fig.4 (not shown), which permit deflection similar to that shown in Fig.2. In another embodiment, Fig. 5 (not shown), the bearings are split axially so as to render the upper half of each bearing capable of deflecting with the shaft. In the embodiment shown in Figs.6 and 7, the pinion shaft 31 has needle-roller bearings supported by flexible webs 44, 45 that are engaged by discs 42, 43 through which axial thrusts are transmitted from pressure-compensating zones 40, 41 for endsealing discs 37, 38 abutting the gear-wheels. A pressure-loaded piston 36 engages with the internally-toothed gear-wheel 32. A filler piece 34 is supported by a bolt 35.
