Abstract
864,046. Transformers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 4, 1960 [Jan. 7, 1959], No. 229/60. Class 38 (2). A low-power transformer has a coil former 1 of metal sheet of from 0.1 mm. to 0.3 mm. thickness slotted at 7 and having an insulating layer produced by phosphating on its inside a layer of plastic foil 3 followed by a layer of wire 5 of at least 0.5 mm. diameter being wound on the former, the latter forming at least part of at least one winding of the transformer. The wire 5, which may be insulated by lacquer surrounded by a thermoplastic sheath, may be wound on the former with the latter fixed temporarily on a rectangular mandrel, the turns being caused to adhere together by heating.
