Abstract
891,913. Cathode heaters. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug. 25, 1960 [Sept. 3, 1959], No. 30155/59. Class 39(3) [Also in Group XL(a)] A cathode heated wire is wound helically round an insulated, tensioned wire 4. As shown, the heater wire 12 is in the form of a coiled coil, formed by winding wire helically round a molybdenum mandrel, which helix is then wound round the wire 4 or a further mandrel before dissolving out the first mandrel. An alumina coating on the tensioned wire 4 and on the heater wire 12 may be applied by cataphoresis.
