858,458. Ornamenting. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Dec. 23, 1958 [Dec. 30, 1957], No. 40307/57. Class 52(1) [Also in Group XXV] A fastener device for securing a moulding strip, &c. a having channel-shaped portions to an apertured support B, for example part of a furniture frame, comprises a base 1 for engagement with the channel-shaped portions and a resilient U-shaped attaching portion for insertion into an aperture A in the support B; the attaching portion includes an arm 4 having one end integrally connected to the base 1 and the other end integrally connected to a second arm 6 which is formed with a pointed free end 9 directed towards the base 1. The arm 6 is bent at 7 along a diagonal extending from a corner of the free end of the arm to provide a strengthening portion 8 and to form the pointed end 9, and a pointed prong 10 is provided on the arm 4. In use, a number of such fastening devices are positioned along the moulding strip a in spaced relation according to the location of a plurality of apertures in the support B.
