Abstract

678,603. Sheet-metal joints. UNITEDCARR FASTENER CORPORATION. Nov. 15, 1950 [Nov. 17, 1949], No. 27962/50. Class 83 (iv). [Also in Groups X and XXV] A fastening device for securing an article to a supporting panel 12 having an opening 14 comprises a base 18 having an opening 20 and a pair of attaching arms 24 on opposite sides of the opening, the arms extending outwardly from the plane of the base and terminating in opposing free ends 26 each provided with a projecting tab portion 30 extending outwardly and downwardly from the plane of the arm and having an inclined camming edge portion 32, the arms being adapted to enter the opening in the panel and to be bent outwardly simultaneously by the insertion of a tool 28 therebetween to position the camming edge portions to engage the panel on opposite sides of the opening 14. A moulding may be snapped over the bent-up ends 22 of the fastener shown in Figs. 1 and 4. Fig. 6 shows a wiring clip comprising a base 40 with attaching arms &c. and cable-engaging means 42 at one end.
