858,357. Pipe joints. WIJNGAADEN, J. E. VAN. Aug. 26, 1958 [Sept. 5, 1957], No. 27306/58. Classes 99(1) and 99(2). The ends of pipes 3, 4, Fig. 2, are expanded prior to the tightening up by bolts 9 of a surrounding stuffing box joint 1, 2. In Fig. 3 a deck passage piece 10 comprises a coupling as shown in Fig. 2 at each end of a pipe 11 which is welded to a sleeve 12 which is in turn welded to the deck 14. The coupling can be supported by suspension links 18, Fig. 1, engaging the bolts 9, Fig. 2, through a rubber bush 20.
