Abstract

857,580. Suction cleaners. GRUMBKOW, B. VON Feb. 14, 1958 [Feb. 23, 1957], No. 4940/58. Classes 8(1) and 8(2). In a motor-fan suction cleaner wherein the impeller 3 is mounted at the forward suction end of the motor shaft and is surrounded by a bell-shaped casing 2 having a suction inlet duct 1 to which is fitted a cleaning nozzle, the dust bag 14 is secured round the rear edge 6 of the fan casing 2 and extends-around and rearwardly of the motor casing 4, 9, 19 and has its end turned inwardly at 22 and clamped by a plate 23 against the rear end 19 of the motor casing, the cylindrical wall 9 of which is secured by radial-ribs 10 to the fan casing 2. The forward end-of-the bag 14 has a resilient sleeve 13 by which it is bolted to the fan casing 2 whilst the most rearward portion has a sliding fastener 25 of ring form to provide a dust discharge outlet cleaning tools 32, 33 are held by sockets 21 of the plate 23 and a holding handle is secured in a coupling 26. Internal cushions 17 hold the bag from the motor casing and a non-return valve between the motor casing wall 9 and a tapered dust-laden air guide ring 16 prevents back-flow of dust.
