Abstract

823,145. Suction cleaners. HOOVER Ltd. Feb. 29, 1956 [March 9, 1955], No. 6384/56. Class 8(1). In a handle propelled motor-fan suction cleaner comprising an upwardly extending filter casing 10, Fig. 1, connected at its lower end to the fan inlet and nozzle 11 so as to be movable therewith during normal floor cleaning and connected at its upper end with a hose 22 having its opposite end 23 detachably connected to the nozzle 10 and which when detached therefrom may be provided with an off-the-floor cleaning nozzle 26 ,Fig. 3, the hose 22 is extensible to a length not less than twice its normal retracted length. The handle 25 may be detached from a socket provided by a casing cover 16 and from a yoke 28 and used as an extension tube during off-the-floor cleaning.
