Abstract

856,548. Feeding and collecting slivers. KAMMGARNSPINNEREI KAISERSLANTERN. Jan. 26,1959 [Jan. 25, 1958], No. 2700/59. Addition to 842,750. Class 120(3). The apparatus of the parent Specification, wherein a pendulum sliver feeder 16, Fig. 4, is movable on a carriage 5 longitudinally above a row of containers 2, and the carriage is movable transversely from one row A of containers to a second row B, is modified in that the sliver is conveyed from a first processing machine to the feeder via a horizontal conveyer 13, an intermediate conveyer 14, and an upper conveyer 15, conveyer 14 being carried by a frame pivoted at its lower end to a fixed part and being tiltably connected at its upper end to frame 3, 4. The two rows A, B of containers are arranged at the inlet side of a machine 18, Fig. 3. Feeder 16 deposits the sliver band from conveyer 15 successively into the containers 2 in row B; sliver from previously-filled containers in row A is meanwhile fed direct to machine 18. When the containers in row B are full, and those in row A empty, frame 3, which is supported, via columns 1 on wheels 6, ismoved on rails 8 transversely of the rows A, B until the feeder is above row A; the containers in row A are then filled while the sliver from row B is fed to machine 18 via overhead conveyers.
