855,236. Balanced flues. RADIATION Ltd. July 18, 1958 [July 26, 1957], No. 23781/57. Class 126. [Also in Group XIII] A gas-fired space heater or instantaneous water heater (neither shown) is mounted by the bolting of brackets, at its flue gas outlet and at the open rear of its burner box, to flanges 9 at the sides of conduits 5, 6 secured in upper and lower apertures 3, 4 of a mounting plate 1. The plate 1 is fixed by screws in holes 10 to the wall of a concrete duct which supplies combustion air and disposes of flue gases for a number of flats, the duct being cut to accommodate the flue conduit 5 and the air conduit 6 when the heater is installed. The conduits are spot-welded to flanges 7 of the plate 1 and have a strip 8 of metal at each front edge forming a channel for receiving an edge of the heater's flue gas outlet or burner box and asbestos string for sealing. The strips 8 on the vertical edges are formed with the flanges 9.
