Class 100(2) Flexible printing plate clamping mechanism in which the ends 40 of the printing plate 36 are connected to two bars 30, 32 received in an axially extending groove 26 in the circumferential surface of a cylinder 10 is characterised by comprising a number of pins 44 extending transversely of the bar and each mounted in bores in both bars, and having an adjusting disc 42 accommodated in the slot between the bars, the ends of the pins 44 co-operating with abutment faces 48 in the walls of the groove so that by turning the pins the bars may be adjusted in different directions within the span defined by the walls of the groove. The cylinder is provided with an axially extending recess 12 in which are located bars 16 attached by screws 20 to a bar 18 which is screwed to the cylinder. The clamping bars 30, 32 are located in the groove 26 defined by the bars 16, 18. The discs 42 are mounted in groups of five as shown in Fig. 3 for adjusting the bars 30, 32 in three different ways. In the first the pins 44 are screw-threaded into the bar 30 and rotate freely in the bar 32 (type A) so that by turning the discs 42 the bar 30 is moved tangentially towards or away from the other bar 32. In the second the pins are screwed into bar 32 but rotate freely in the bar 30 for tangentially adjusting the former bar (type B). In the third the pins are free to rotate in both bars 30 and 32 and are provided at their ends with eccentric pins 50 which are received in bores in slide blocks 52 displaceable in axially extending grooves 54 in the bar 16 (type C). Rotation of these pins effects radial movement of the bars 30, 32 and final tightening of the printing plate 36. The discs are provided with circumferential notches 56 for turning by means of a hook spanner.
