Half-cylindrical stereo plates 2, 3 are clamped to printing cylinder 1 by claws 4, 5, 10, 21, 22, 26, 27, 32, 10<SP>1</SP>, 22<SP>1</SP>, 26<SP>1</SP>, 27<SP>1</SP>, which are mounted on half rings and engage in bevels on the undersides of the stereo plates. Six half rings for each plate 2, 3 co-operate by pairs, one of each pair carrying springs 28, 28<SP>1</SP> which act on other half rings through rods 29, 29<SP>1</SP>, 30, 30<SP>1</SP> in such a way that parts of each stereo plate located between facing claws are placed resiliently under compression. The stereo plates 2, 3 rest on the outer surfaces of fixed rings 8, 9, which are fast with the cylinder 1 and provide abutments for the half rings and springs. The claws clamping a plate are opened and closed by rotation of a spindle 12, which moves a semicircular setting member 15 longitudinally of the cylinder 1, and rods extending through bores in the fixed rings and in the half rings.
