Abstract
1,098,585. Printing-surfaces. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG A.G. Sept. 10, 1965 [Sept. 16, 1964], No. 38855/65. Heading B6C. Double-width printing-plates 11 are secured to a printing-cylinder 3 at one end by clamping jaws 7 on the cylinder, at the inner end by a fixed clamping ring, and the middle by underbevels 10 co-operating with a groove 12 on the underside of the plate, which underbevels replace, in the groove 9, the bevels which clamp two adjacent plates when single width plates are being used. The latter bevels are removed, after depression of resilient abutment 8, by sliding along the groove 9, which widens to the right in Fig. 1. The underbevels 10 are tightened to clamp the plate by rotating screws 13 passing through the clamping ring 4 and clamping spring 17 and acting on a pressure rod 16 eccentric thereto by means of a flange 18, there being four screws and rods along the outer curved edge of each plate.
