Abstract
1,067,372. Printing-surfaces. SCHNELL-PRESSENFABRIK FRANKENTHAL ALBERT & CIE A.G. April 28, 1964 [April 29, 1963], No. 17484/64. Heading B6C. Stereotype printing plates 14 having inclined grooves 13, 13<SP>1</SP> formed on the undersides of the plates parallel to their curved edges are clamped on to a cylinder 1 by means including rings 2 adapted to be axially displaced on rotation of eccentric bolts 3 in grooves 5 in outer rings 6, slide rods 9 attached to the rings 2 by screws 8 and supporting spring-loaded members 12 having hook-shaped projections which engage the inclined grooves 13, and hookshaped projections 15 formed on the cylinder 1 and engaging the inclined grooves 13<SP>1</SP>. The tension of the springs 11 is adjustable by nuts 10 and rings with shoulders 16 are located on the other side of the members 12. The projections 15 may be replaced by projections which are axially adjustable, Fig. 4 (not shown). In the embodiment of Fig. 5, rods 46 are axially fixed but are rotatable in discs 26 secured to the cylinder 1 by screws 27. The rods have threaded ends engaging threads in members 32 carrying projections which engage inclined grooves in the plates 42-45, 42<SP>1</SP>-45<SP>1</SP>. Projections on spring-loaded members 35 engage the grooves at the other ends of the respective plates.
