Abstract

1,120,838. Baling presses. COURTAULDS Ltd. 7 Dec., 1965 [8 Dec., 1964], No. 49847/64. Heading B5F. [Also in Division B8] A press head e.g. for use in the method described in Specification 986,483, comprises platelike members 8 which are ooplanar or parallel and are relatively movable to vary the effective area of the head. In the example, four plates 8 are movable in mutually perpendicular paths in a single plane by means of a double-acting pneumatic cylinder 20 and piston 24 acting through a rotary disc 4 and cams. Each plate carries a roller 13 engaging in a cam slot 7 in a plate 6 carried by the rotary disc 4.
