Abstract

646,066. Inking-apparatus. DAYTON RUBBER CO. Nov. 24, 1947, No. 31098. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1941. [Class 100 (ii)] A dividing partition for a printing-press ink-trough 12 comprises a pair of plates 18 supported in parallel spaced relation perpendicular to the axis of the ink roller 10 and a resilient member 22 retained between the plates and projecting beyond the edges thereof to engage the roller 10, adjusting means being provided to vary the extent by which the member 22 projects. The plates 18 are connected by a screw 44 passing through a block 2S fixed to one plate and a lug 42 fixed to the other. The member 22 consists of resilient packing material such as felt or rubber and is pressed against the surfaces of the trough and roller 10 by plates 46, 48 and 50 and screws 36, 34, 38 and 40, the latter being individually adjustable in blocks 28, 26, 30 and 32 secured to the inner face of one of the plates. An angle bracket 54 has slots 56, 58 through which screws pass respectively into the trough wall 16 and a block 24 fixed to one of the plates 18 to secure the partition to the trough.
