Abstract

1,213,903. Inking apparatus. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG A.G. 19 Jan., 1968 [2 March, 1967], No. 3112/68. Heading B6C. [Also in Division F2] An adjustable bearing mounting for a distributing or ink application roller 1 of a printing machine consists of a stationary pin 3 fixed to a wall 2 and a housing 6 which may be made of a plurality of parts and which accommodates the shaft of a roller, the stationary pin and the housing being connected to one another by resilient non-metallic material and there being means for relatively adjusting the pin and the housing. The mounting facilitates adjustment of the roller 1 relative to the rollers 14 and 15. The resilient elements may be solid rubber cushions 9, the position of the housing relative to the pin being adjusted by a screw 13, or the elements may be hollow chambers (10, Fig. 3, not shown) into which fluid may be pumped thereby adjusting the position of the housing, although screws may also be employed. In a further embodiment (Fig. 6, not shown) employing solid cushions, the position of the housing is adjusted by means of a screw and a pneumatically or hydraulically operated piston.
