Abstract

1,126,097. Inking and damping rollers. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG A.G. 28 Sept., 1966 [9 Oct., 1965], No. 43444/66. Heading B6C. In a rotary press each inking forme or damping roller 1 is surgable about an ink or water transfer drum 3 from a plate cylinder 2 by means of a piston and cylinder assembly 5, 6, the piston-rod 10 of which is associated with travel adjustment means and is spring-biased from plate engagement position. The drawing illustrates three alternative embodiments of the piston travel adjusting means, the first two being shown in the lower half of the figure and comprising adjustment nuts 9 or 91 mounted at either end of the rod and co-actable with the associated end of the cylinder. The third embodiment is shown in the upper half of the figure, the piston travel adjustment being effected through movement of the cylinder 6 by an eccentric 12.
