Abstract

529,809. Printing surfaces. BAILEY'S PRINTING INVENTIONS, Ltd., and BAILEY, J. June 8, 1939, No. 16808. [Class 100 (ii)] Thin lithographic printing plates 7 are secured, e.g. by a sheet 8 having adhesive on both sides, to curved base plates 6 which are then secured to a cylinder 5 so that no substantial gaps occur between the plates. The bases are preferably secured to the cylinder by screws 13 passing through end flanges 11 on the bases into nuts 14 slidable in dovetailed grooves 15 in the cylinder. The ends of the plates 10 are bent at right angles over slightly chamfered edges 9 of the bases. Specification 413,270 is referred to.
