Abstract

500,600. Printing - machines. WAITE & SAVILLE, Ltd., and WHYTE, F. Oct. 16, 1937, No. 28192. [Class 100 (ii)] In a rotary printing-machine in which one of the printing members, e.g. an offset cylinder 4, is adjustably mounted in eccentric bush members 3, an indicating:device consisting of a graduated disc 10 and a fixed pointer 11 is arranged at each side of the machine to facilitate exact adjustment. The bush members 3 are arranged outside of other bush members 2 by means of which the cylinder 4 is moved into and out of contact with cylinders 5, 6 and the adjustments of the bush 3 by screw-mechanism are adapted to adjust the machine for papers of different thicknesses. Each disc 10 is freely mounted'in the machine frame and is operated by a gear-wheel engaged by a spring-pressed segmental rack 8 pivoted to the bush 3 so as to move with the bush when it is operated to adjust the printing pressure.
