Abstract

481,306. Printing-machines. TIMSON, E. A. Nov. 13, 1936, No. 31052. Addition to 460,080. [Class 100 (ii)] Inking - apparatus.- The forme - inking roller supporting and adjusting unit described in the parent Specification is provided with means whereby the plate or bracket to which the arm carrying the roller is pivoted can be moved to effect throw-off of the inking roller, so that removal of the pin by which the arm is pivoted to the plate to permit throw-off is unnecessary. The roller-carrying arm 1 is mounted on the plate 2 by a pivot pin 9 about which the arm is adjustable by studs 6 engaging a bush 8 on the abutment stud 3, and the plate 2 is adjustable about an eccentric 11 on a stud 15 by similar screws 4 engaging a second bush 5 on the stud 3. To allow of movement of the plate 2 about the stud 3 to move the roller into an inoperative position, the eccentric 11 is carried by a knob 12 threaded on the stud 15 and engages in a block 14 slidable in a slot 13 in the end of the plate 2. The knob serves also to clamp the plate 2 when the roller is in the operative position. Instead of the eccentric 11, a cam or a crank-pin which may carry a roller may be employed.
