Classes 64(2) and 64(3) For central heating or for cooling the coolant of transiformers or rectifiers, a radiator has a number of sheet metal sections each comprising two embossed half-sections a, b with at least one metal plate f between them. The sections may interconnect separately-formed headers, Fig. 13 (not shown), or they may have bosses g for interconnection so that a sectional radiator is formed. The plates f may be narrower than the half-sections a, b, Fig. 8 (not shown), or they may be as wide as these so that their edges are secured between edge-flanges d of the halfsections as in Fig. 7 where two embossed plates f are shown forming extra fluid channels. Openings i in the plates f may be formed at the bottom only, as in Fig. 9. Ribs c are embossed on the half sections to form channels e and they may be secured to the plates. The sheets may be joined by galvanizing or tinning, by welding if steel is used or brazing or soldering if copper or brass are used. A radiator may be connected in a raised position to a transformer tank, Fig. 14 (not shown), so that the coolant air or oil circulates thermo-siphonically.
