Abstract
845,178. Making heat exchangers. WASHINGTON ENGINEERING Ltd. Nov. 13, 1958, No. 36509/58. Class 83 (2). [Also in Group XIII] A method of manufacturing heat exchanger panels such as a cooling panel or central heating radiator comprises stamping sheet metal plates a and b to produce horizontal top and bottom fluid channels e and f respectively and one or more additional horizontal fluid channels g and vertical connecting channels h, the depth of the indentations for the additional horizontal channels g being different from those of the vertical channels h and welding, brazing or soldering together the stampings a and b at their abutting parts k and i to form the panel. In a modification the stampings a and b are made in a single metal sheet and the panel formed by a folding operation (Fig. 4).
