Abstract

1,160,705. Plate heat exchangers. MARSTON EXCELSIOR Ltd. 18 Oct., 1967 [21 Oct., 1966], No. 47167/66. Heading F4S. [Also in Division C7] In a plate type heat exchanger secondary heat exchange elements in the form of corrugated metal sheets 5 are interposed in the fluid flow passages defined by adjacent spaced apart parallel heat exchange plates 1. The corrugated sheets 5, which are secured to the plates by brazing, are made from a nickel-base alloy consisting of (per cent by weight):-Chromium from 14À0% to 17%; Iron from 6À0 to 10%; Carbon up to 0À20%; Silicon up to 0À50%; Manganese up to 1À0%; balance Nickel (apart from impurities including Cobalt) not less than 72%. Preferably the heat exchange plates 1 are also made from the same nickel-base alloy.
