Abstract

846,230. Pipe couplings. CROSS MANUFACTURING CO. (1938) Ltd. Jan. 7, 1959 No. 625/59. Class 99(1). A pipe jointing device comprises two parts 1, 2 secured together by a bolt 5 passing through their walls at right angles to the plane 3 of their abutting annular sealing faces so that the parts can be relatively rotated on the latter for adjustment and there clamped together, each of the parts 1, 2 being formed with a pipe socket 8 disposed with the axis thereof inclined at an angle, less than a right-angle, to the axis of the bolt 5 and provided with a screwed gland 9 and a packing 10. As shown, the device is of spherical shape and the seating faces are grooved to receive a packing 4. More than one socket may project from each of the parts 1, 2.
