845,005. Endless conveyers. ROTHENBERGER, H. Nov. 29, 1956 [Nov. 12, 1955; Nov. 12, 1956], No. 36518/56. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XVII] Apparatus for packing ampoules or other cylindrical articles in cartons &c. (see Group XVII), includes means such as an endless belt causing them to roll about their longitudinal axis and means for arresting the rolling, when the articles are in a given position of rotation, by engaging an abutment on the article such as an edge of a label. In one embodiment, ampoules 36 are fed by a ramp 58 on to the upper run of a belt 35 which rotates them after their being engaged by blades 44. The blades are carried on a frame 43 mounted for vertical and pivotal movement on stationary pillars 38 to one side of the belt. Notched members 54 rise on either side of the belt after the ampoules have been positioned by engagement of their labels 37 edge-on with the blades, to raise them clear of the belt. A carton 52 is then advanced to engage the ampoule ends. Specification 845,004 is referred to.
