Abstract
922,660. Endless-conveyers. SCHWEIZERISCHE INDUSTRIE - GESELLSCHAFT. Feb. 13, 1961 [Feb. 23, 1960], No. 5195/61. Class 78 (1). Carriers 8 having holders 9 for conveying articles (not shown) are temporarily stopped at points A, B, C, D by causing an endless chain 1 to pass around guide rollers 13 positioned between sprockets 2. Each carrier has rollers 6, 7 for engagement in guide rails 3, 4 and a coupling 10 secured to a link of the chain carries a roller 11 which engages in a slide path 12 provided on the carrier. In Fig. 2, as the link carrying a coupling 10 approaches point X after passing around the central sprocket 2 of the three sprockets shown, the carrier slows and then stops when the link leaves the sprocket, the roller 11 having moved down from its normal position at the top of the slide path 12. The carrier remains stationary until the coupling 10 reaches point Y when the carrier again begins to move along the rails 3, 4 and attains normal speed when the coupling 10 reaches point Z. The duration of dwell of the carriers may be varied by adjusting the distance between the sprockets 2 and the rollers 13.
