Abstract

Oxidation-resistant niobium alloys consist of niobium and unavoidable impurities and one of the elements Ti 10-40%, V 2-10%, Cr 2-20%, Fe 2-5% or 15-20%, Co 2-5% or 15-20%, Ni 2-3% or 10-30%, Zr 7-12%, Mo 1-30%, W 10-25%, Al 3-30%, Sn 2-15%, Ta 7-15%. The alloy may, alternatively be a ternary alloy containing Ta up to 3% and one of the other elements listed above with the balance Nb and impurities. The Provisional Specifications describe also alloy, containing V up to 40, Cr up to 50, Co up to 40, Ni up to 40 or Zr up to 40.
